Christian formation for life is an important part of
our life at St. Bede's -- our patron saint was a great scholar and writer in
eighth century England. Clergy and parishioners work to support a wide
variety of Christian education options from nursery age on up.

Adult education classes are offered through the year
(except during Summer) on Sunday mornings (9:15 - 9:45 AM). A special
series of Inquirer's classes are offered each Autumn for those new to
Christianity or the Episcopal Church. A Lenten soup/study series is
offered during the six weeks of Lent. An in-depth study of a theme in
Christian life, or of a portion of Scripture is the focus. A Bible
Study group meets on Monday nights. Check your bulletin for the latest
details.

St. Bede's offers youth ministry through the
year. Youth group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, usually at 4 PM
for fun activities, study/discussion of Christian themes, and (often) a
meal. Other activities (field trips, fundraisers, service projects
etc.) are offered at other times. Youth group has offerings for 5th -
12th grades.

Children's Christian Formation (often
called "Sunday School") is a special kind of experience for children
preschool - 4th grade. We use a program called "Godly Play"
that stimulates creative thinking in children about faith, while also
grounding them in the Scriptures and the sacred traditions of
Christianity. There are two classrooms (called
"atria"): one for pre-school and kindergarteners, and
another for 1st - 4th grade children. Godly play begins at 10 AM on
Sundays. The children rejoin their families in worship just before
communion. All baptized children are welcome to receive communion in
the Episcopal Church.

Nursery care is provided in the
nursery for toddlers on Sunday mornings begining at 9 AM and at other events
as announced. Two childcare providers are usually on staff.
(Providers have received training for child safety issues.) We deeply
value a healthy, safe, and fun nursery. Parents are encouraged to be
involved in its ongoing life!

The library at
St. Bede's is located in the fellowship hall. Readers are welcome.
